Can it be a blessing for a man to get laid off and being unemployed?

Growing up, I always heard that if you wanted to be successful, you should go out and find a stable job with a big company, work there 30 to 40 years, move up in position and eventually retire with a nice monthly pension. That sounds good, but in today's business climate, that is hardly a reality. Big businesses are often not loyal to their hardworking, long-term employees. They are famous for outsourcing to other countries, getting rid of long-term employees to avoid paying them their retirement (and sometimes even cashing out on their stock), and then closing the doors, leaving their faithful workers out in the cold.

Maestro Bartolomeo Beretta was a master gun barrel maker living in Gardone. In 1526, Bartolomeo was paid by the Arsenal of Venice to make 185 arquebus barrels. The nearly 500-year-old bill of sale for those firearms can be located in the company's archives, making Beretta the oldest manufacturing company in the world. The Beretta family has maintained complete ownership of the company for fifteen generations. Ugo Gussalli Beretta and his two sons, Pietro and Franco, still maintain leadership of Beretta today.

The Beretta family has been making firearms for kings, princes, sportsmen and the armies of the world for nearly five centuries. Today, Beretta’s output is around 1,500 weapons a day, with more than 75% of its arms being exported to about one hundred countries. Their firearms are used around the world for civilian, law enforcement, and military purposes. The Beretta 92F (which I used to personally own) has been the standard issued sidearm for the United States Military since 1985. Beretta is also famous for the shooting clothes and accessories it manufactures.

With American companies, such as Hostess, going bankrupt, and other historical American retail companies closing or being bought out, there must be something to learn about business from the Beretta family and their company. ...

Men, there are some things you should not go cheap on when you are making a purchase. Sometimes buying something cheap is not always the best choice.

I like a bargain just as much as the next person. I do a lot of price comparisons and shop around before I make most of my purchases. If I can find a product that is high end that is on sale for a bargain, I will buy it. Of course, I never pay more for something if I can find it somewhere else for a better price. The one thing I try to stay away from is buying something cheaply made, just to save a dollar or two, and sometimes even more.

I know of one man back in the 80's that bought a car called a Yugo. He paid something like $4,000.00 for the car. Within a short time, his seat broke and his gear shift became disconnected from the car. The crank on his driver's side came off, and he began getting flat tires from the smallest bump and pothole in the road. ...

Would you like to see all 48 states and get paid to do it? If so, being an over the road truck driver might be the job for you. So people may think that this is a low paying job where the drivers are forced to drive junky trucks day and night.

Would you like to see all 48 states and get paid to do it? If so, being an over-the-road truck driver might just be the job for you. Many people may think that this is a low-paying job where the drivers are forced to drive junky trucks day and night. Although some drivers are underpaid, work long hours, and have to drive junk equipment, many are well paid, and are at the wheel of state-of-the-art semi tractors that come with all sorts of bells and whistles.

Asian countries are growing by leaps and bounds in every area from education to economics to sports to military might. They are the upcoming nations of the world for many reasons.

Asian countries are slowly but surely edging out the competition around the world in nearly every arena. Not only are they growing economically, but they are also making strides in other areas, such as technology, education, sports, medicine, and health. How is it possible that America and the rest of the world has lost its competitive edge? What are the people of Asia doing that the rest of us are not?
