    Below is an excerpt from a news story about a 33-year-old British man named Graham Hughes, from Liverpool, England, that visited all 201 countries in four years without getting on a plane. This was done on a little over $5,000 a year!

    Hughes was arrested for suspicion of espionage in one country, faced the threat of pirates at sea, and, at one point, had to rush to see older sister, Nicola, for the last time before she passed away after a long battle with cancer.     With the price of fuel these days, world travel for a man can be quite expensive and seen as an impossible dream. I can remember back in 2006, when I could fly from America to the Far East between $459.00 to $650.00. Today, those same seats are selling anywhere from $1,300.00 to $2,500.00, or more. Travel can bring excitement, knowledge, experience and cultural awareness to a man's portfolio of life. It can make a narrow-minded man have a much broader view of the world that helps to build him into a more well-rounded man.

    Several years ago, I became addicted to world travel so much it felt like getting on a plane for me was likened to ingesting an illegal drug. I am not a drug user at all, but I often jokingly describe world travel as my "legal LSD" due to the way it affects my mind and body in so many profound ways. It is hard to describe how traveling abroad does this to a person that has never set foot outside their homeland.
